The Sunday Gatherings are a new online format by the Jamtse School of Yin Yoga. It is a gathering to be, share and practice in community.
On the last Sunday of each month we will gather together virtually, to share our practice, explore new perspectives and experience community. The practices in our Sunday Gatherings will vary from Yin Yoga to related mindfulness and healing techniques, talks with colleagues and experts, live music and more co-creative endeavors. We’re aiming to create a space to learn, grow and practice together and lean into the nurturing quality of community.
We’re looking forward to welcome you in our virtual circles.

A practice of Simplicity with Julia Kupke
Coming back to listening to the wordless language of our body and the natural rhythm of our breath, we tap into the experience of simplicity with all its dimensions.
Julia invites you to a Yin yoga practice dedicated to the treasures we can unfold in simplicity. We‘re looking into what is enough and how the power of less can open doors inwards.
For those who want to reflect or share in community after the practice, Julia gives time and space for that at the end of the session.

Coming home to presence with Alena Ringelmann
"By resting in the body we come to rest on the earth, we come to rest in the present."
In this Sunday Gathering, we will explore the dimension(s) of the body as a portal to presence.
Through a guided practice you are invited to discover how yin yoga can serve as a container to create a sense of safety in the body. As we shift the center of our awareness from our minds to our bodies, we allow presence to become a whole body experience.
We will begin with a brief introduction, followed by a yin practice, ending with a short meditation and some time for questions & answers.

Yoga Nidra of the Four Archetypes with Eric Archer
In this Sunday Gathering Eric Archer will explore the four archetypes of Warrior, Healer, Teacher, and Visionary through the guided meditation of Yoga Nidra. Journey through the body and explore the deep interior through subtle awareness and visualization. The softness and receptivity cultivated by Yoga Nidra allows our underlying stories to surface, and through deep listening and deep looking we can access these archetypes within our own subconscious. Based on guided meditations led during the Jamtse Teacher Trainings, Eric will lead a Yoga Nidra meditation of approximately 45 minutes, with time afterwards for journaling and questions. Please join us, and all are welcome who would benefit from this practice together.

The use of poetry and story in our teaching and practice
In this Sunday Gathering, Biff and Eric will examine the use of story and poetry in our practice and teaching.
Like nature herself, our bodies communicate through story.
Facts and information land in our minds, while story, as Ram Dass said “Breaks free into heart space”.

Inviting Softness with Julia Kupke
Our next Sunday Gathering on the 18th of December is an invitation to dive into the quality of softness.
Julia Kupke will guide us through a practice for body and mind. Through movement and stilness we will explore how softness allows to reveal qualities of harmony, openness and compassion from within. Remembering our capacity to move, be, heal and connect in a soft, gentle and tender way.
„You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.“
The gathering will start with an introduction, followed by a practice and closing with space for questions and sharing. Some space to move around on a mat or soft floor is helpful, blankets, pillows or other props to support the body in postures and relaxation are recommended.

Our next Sunday Gathering November 27th - Cultivating the Listening Body — A conversation and practice with Eric Archer and Diana Seiler. In this Sunday Gathering we will discuss the heart of the Yin practice through deep listening from the perspectives of a musician/poet and a massage therapist. Eric has been teaching Yin and sharing music and poetry with Biff for nearly 10 years. Diana is a massage therapist and professional massage instructor in New York sharing modalities ranging from Deep tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Thai Yoga Massage, and has assisted Biff and Eric with workshops in the past few years. How does one listen to the body through music, through hands on bodywork, through shared presence, through poetic speech? How can these perspectives deepen our relationship to Yin? We will share a public conversation from our respective experiences, including an open Q&A, and a short practice to close. All are welcome.
